Shame on the US Media

For the last 10 days we're all SICK of hearing about Anna Nicole Smith and JetBlue!! It's almost as if there's nothing else going on in the world... what kind of a brainwashing system is this?
The most imporant new law that the country needs is a "Runway Bill"!!! Yes true... it's more important that some Caribbean vacationers were stranded on a runway for 12 hrs than to think that there are people who work 365 days a year and cant afford to have a roof over their heads or their families! More important even to think about those inconveniences than it is to think about what's going on in the international community.

Just a quick visit to a few international news sites reveals what goes on in the world. But too bad, the people who cannot afford internet access in their homes, or cable TV will never know about them.
This is a way for the American Media to make sure that Americans really dont know what's going on "behind-the-scenes" in the actual world, and what kind of decisions their leaders are making...

Here's how in America the Democratic Leaders are preparing a repeal plan for Iraq to change the funding that is currently in place, and also might limit Bush's authority.

And here, again US, is investigating the "claims" that Iraqi civilians, including children, were killed this week during a battle in Ramadi.

Valentine's DAY is THIS Wednesday (February 14)

If you're looking for gift ideas there are a few websites out there to help out. Needless to say you have the usual eBay and Amazon.
But then you have special gifts.
You can get really neat gift certificates, or even dinner and movies delivered to his/her door from the Flying Noodle website. They have a "Dinner and a Movie Club" gift where they deliver popcorn, a Blockbuster rental card, a gourmet pasta dinner, and a choice of a gourmet course.
If you go on their site you'll also notice they have customized gift sets for whatever pleases your significant other. ;o))

One of my favorite sites for valentine's day is definitely the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. They have really cute teddy bears, that can say just about anything! :o)

And if you really want to indulge and bring out the romantic in you, then you can get a gift certificate for a balloon ride over your favorite city, a dinner cruise in Manhattan, or even for a spa, wine tasting or dancing classes for two from Signature Days. Just select the city and then the activity type you'd like.

Ok.. I know you've all heard about it too. But I've watched and read "The Secret" and I really do believe that it works. The DVD, obviously, is more inspiring than the book, though I found the book can be a good reference point too.
If you believe in the secret it's great, but if you don't, then just give it a try once. You'll see how it really works. We've always heard our coaches and teachers tell us that visualization is very powerful. You just need to remember two points:
1- Always think positive. Even if there's something you dont want, don't state it in negative terms. Don't say I dont want ABC, say I WANT and will have XYZ. The power of positive thinking is unbelievable. It is true what they say, we only use a fraction of our brain power, imagine what can happen if we can use even half of it?
2- The second point, and a very important one is, do not doubt. If you doubt that this is not going to work for you it means you're not focusing on what you want and your ultimate goal. You're focusing on the method rather than the goal, and it's taking away from your energy.

Basically the secret is the power of positive energy attracting the positive things you want in life. :o)
