2 Years Later...

I found my blog again... I'd completely "forgotten" that I even had a blog! hehe... life has been hectic as always, and I just never had the time to blog. I've started a new job, moved twice, bought a house, been traveling etc. and time just flew by...
Now I know what that "missing" feeling I've been having was all about...
So back to blogging...

What's been on my mind lately? Work... work... and more work... I've been in this project for the last few months that's got me on my toes. It's very interesting as we are putting together a Technology Capabilities Roadmap for a major pharmaceutical company. It's also very challenging. This major pharma, is, you guessed it, HUGE and a laggard when it comes to technology innovations. Not to mention how hectic everybody is. I think that the average person we work with has about 3 "priority" projects on their plates... Getting time from them has been challenging. Then, leading a "virtuoso" team, as HBR calls it has been challenging. Oh the timeline? It's very tight, but the least of my concerns. I know that we'll get the stuff done in time (12 weeks for 6 Shared Service Capabilities and 12 deliverables each). What makes me lose sleep at night is how fast the train is moving, with so many different people hanging onto it, and seems like with at least 6 conductors!
Alas, life is not all work. I am finding much of my sanity at home. Reading. Just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Housseini and just started reading "Improbable" by Adam Fawel. Talk about a change of pace. Housseini's book was very informative and definitely a page turner. I practically learned something about the culture and the way of life in every paragraph. Kept wondering about what's going to happen next to our heroine and couldn't help bu sympathize. This latter one is more a murder/mystery kind of fiction read and so far has got me glued to it. :)
